Bulitex BR

Protective Panels for Foamed Structures

Bulitex BR Series is a thermoplastic composite backed by a thin sheet of fabric to help promote adhesion of injected or poured foam systems. These high impact resistant panels are comprised of polypropylene resin reinforced with continuous woven glass fibers. Bulitex resists rot, corrosion, mildew, and is not affected by cleaning-related chemicals. Bulitex BR Series panels provide maximum energy absorption over traditional FRP panels and exhibit thermal expansion similar to aluminum. Evenly distributed physical properties are attributed to the woven glass matrix. Bulitex is easily repaired by applying low heat.

Bulitex

Superior thermal efficiency in a patented composite with exceptional strength.

Bulitex BX-Series is a multilayer woven thermoplastic composite that is reinforced with continuous (not chopped) glass fibers. This process creates a ballistic-grade material that can stop a .45 caliber bullet fired from twenty feet.

Our exclusive Bulitex process begins by weaving glass fibers into a flexible fabric that can be customized in thickness and width. Next, several layers of the woven glass are impregnated with tough polypropylene resin and then laminated together under heat and pressure, and the multilayer structure becomes rigid as it cools. Depending on the final thickness (from 0.100 to 0.200 inch), Bulitex is rolled into coils up to 600 feet long and up to 96 inches wide, or cut to length to suit a specific application.

More about Bulitex BX-Series

In many applications, Bulitex has become the gold-standard for impact resistant panels. Its thermoplastic properties provide significant energy absorption, reducing cracks and punctures. In addition, Bulitex is:

  • Easy to cut, install and repair
  • Resistant to rot, corrosion and mildew
  • Not affected by cleaning chemicals
  • Completely recyclable

Standard Bulitex panels are available in several different forms and thicknesses to suit a variety of applications.

Bulitex BX-Series Specifications

Bulitex BX-Series is a thermoplastic material comprised of polypropylene resin reinforced with continuous “woven” glass fiber. This environmentally friendly (no Styrene's) material resists rot, corrosion and mildew and is not affected by cleaning-related chemicals. The thermoplastic properties of Bulitex provide maximum energy absorption, reducing cracks and punctures, and exhibits thermal expansion/contraction values similar to aluminum. Evenly distributed physical properties are attributed to its woven glass matrix. Bulitex panels are easily repaired by applying heat.
